President Donald Trump admitted that the ongoing war in Iran will slow global economic growth, stating that the conflict will cause a significant impact on the world economy.
Speaking to Maria Bartiomo on Fox News' "Mornings with Maria," Trump acknowledged the immediate economic consequences of the hostilities. "There is going to be a blow because, you know, we go through this for six weeks, whatever it is, there is going to be a blow, but I think it will recover completely," Trump said, according to cnnchile.com.
Energy price projections
The president also revised his previous stance regarding energy costs. He retracted earlier statements suggesting that oil and gas prices would remain high leading up to the mid-term elections.
Trump now predicts that fuel costs will drop significantly. "I think they will be much lower before the midterms, much lower, yes," he told Bartiromo, the outlet reported.
His updated outlook follows discussions regarding the military objective of preventing a specific nation from acquiring nuclear capabilities. "Well, now you suggest, under the assumption that we stop a country that cannot have a nuclear weapon," Trump added, according to cnnchile.com.
