Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the military's recent operations in Lebanon on Thursday, vowing that Israel will continue to strike Hezbollah with "force and precision."
The Prime Minister's remarks followed a massive wave of Israeli bombings that killed more than 200 people and injured approximately 1,000 in a single day. Since the start of this latest offensive, the death toll in Lebanon has surpassed 1,500.
Netanyahu confirmed that Israeli forces successfully eliminated Ali Yusef Jarshi in Beirut. Jarshi served as the personal secretary to Naim Qassem, the leader of the Shia militant group Hezbollah.
"In Beirut, we eliminated Ali Yusef Jarshi, the personal secretary to the secretary-general of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, and one of his closest men," Netanyahu said.
Targeting weapons networks
The Israeli Prime Minister stated that the military conducted parallel strikes throughout the night, targeting various terrorist infrastructures across southern Lebanon.
According to a statement released on social media, these targeted zones were used to transfer thousands of weapons, projectiles, and rocket launch systems. The military also identified the locations as hubs for munitions warehouses and Hezbollah barracks.
Netanyahu issued a stern warning to the militant group, stating that anyone acting against Israeli citizens will be reached. He emphasized that the military will strike wherever necessary until security is restored to residents in northern Israel.
These escalations follow conflicting reports regarding regional stability. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Wednesday that Iran, the United States, and their allies had agreed to an immediate ceasefire in all areas, including Lebanon.
However, Israel rejected the scope of that agreement. The Israeli government clarified that Lebanon was not included in the ceasefire terms and subsequently launched its largest wave of bombings against the country.
