Salomón Rodríguez found the back of the net for Montevideo City Torque during a Copa Sudamericana clash against Chile's Palestino, marking another successful period for the striker in Uruguay.

The 26-year-old forward capitalized on a precise cross from Gonzalo Montes to head the ball home, securing a goal for the Uruguayan club. According to latercera.com, the striker's current form is highlighted by a tally of seven goals in just 13 appearances this season.

Montes, who previously played for Universidad de Chile and Huachipato, provided the assist that allowed Rodríguez to demonstrate the clinical finishing that eluded him during his time in Chile.

A stark contrast to Chilean stint

Rodríguez's current success stands in sharp contrast to his underwhelming tenure with Colo Colo. The outlet reported that the player arrived at the Santiago club as a high-profile offensive solution following a nearly US$ 1.2 million investment for half of his rights.

However, the striker struggled to meet expectations during his time with the 'Cacique.' During his 26 appearances for the Chilean giants, he managed only three goals, two of which were scored in the Copa Chile.

While his stint in Santiago left fans and management with more questions than answers, his move to Montevideo has revitalized his career. The Uruguayan league has provided the platform for Rodríguez to regain the protagonism that escaped him during his period in the Chilean top flight.
