The jurors of the Cannes Film Festival

Organisers of the Cannes Film Festival announced Monday that Demi Moore, Chloé Zhao, and Stellan Skarsgård will serve as jurors for this year's competition. The nine-member panel will deliberate on the films vying for the prestigious Palme d'Or, according to a report by France 24.

South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook will preside over the jury. The announcement comes just one week before the 79th edition of the festival is scheduled to begin on May 12.

American actor Demi Moore joins the panel following a recent career resurgence. The outlet noted her Oscar-nominated performance in 'The Substance' as a key driver of her current momentum.

A diverse lineup of international talent

The jury features a wide range of international cinematic figures. Joining Moore, Zhao, and Skarsgard are Irish-Ethiopian actor Ruth Negga, Belgian director and screenwriter Laura Wandel, and Chilean director and screenwriter Diego Céspedes.

The panel also includes Ivorian American actor Isaach De Bankolé and Scottish screenwriter Paul Laverty.

Several jurors have recent histories with the French Riviera festival. Moore's film 'The Substance' premiered at Cannes in 2024, while Skarsgård participated in the launch of 'Sentimental Value' at the festival last year, France 24 reported.

The Cannes Film Festival will run from May 12 through May 23.
